About RJ Ramsey

Hi, my name is RJ Ramsey and I am the CEO of Scattrd Seed Media and a director of photography based in Augusta, Georgia. Scattrd Seed Media can do narrative films, music videos, weddings, corporate videos, commercials, etc. We aim to deliver a premium product that leaves our clients satisfied. I am a native of Jersey City, New Jersey, but has roots in the South in a small town called Wrens, GA.  My childhood became an exciting journey by moving back and forth from New Jersey to Georgia gaining exposure to Southern Hospitality and having a keen eye for being in the city. 

 

I have always been a fan of filmmaking. I wrote my first screenplay in the 5th grade and continued to write them throughout high school.  Music has always been my first love.  I wrote, composed, and produced music for nearly 30 years. I am also a 20-year U.S. Army Veteran and retiree. After completing military service, I decided to go into business as an entrepreneur in retail. While doing this, I enrolled at Full Sail University, to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Digital Cinematography. I have written, produced, directed, shot, edited, and scored six short films, two of which are student film assignments. I am proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Firefly.

 

While I continue to hone my skills as a filmmaker, I am looking to start my first feature film upon graduating from Full Sail in February of 2025. I have also won an award for Most Aspiring Filmmaker for 2024 at the Urban Short Film Festival. My most recent film was selected to be screened at the Black Hollywood Educational Resource Center's 30th Annual African American Short Film Festival. I am a fan of Spike Lee and hope that one day I can have an opportunity to meet the legendary filmmaker. I am also an inductee in the National Society For Collegiate Scholars for maintaining a GPA of 3.97 throughout my college career. I am a humble man and married to my beautiful wife Tynisia of 27 years. We have 4 adult children and an Australian Shepherd named Charlie.
